The Star Blanket Cree Nation in Saskatchewan marked a significant milestone by lifting a long-term boil water advisory that had been in place since 2007. This project included the construction of a new Water Treatment Facility and upgrades to the existing sewage pumping station. Two of the existing wells were upgraded, emergency back-up generator power was installed in the new facility, installation of communication fiber optic cabling between water treatment facility and sewage pumping station, and installation on water treatment filtration equipment and Reverse Osmosis. The community now ensures safe drinking water to all homes and community buildings.
