Our team is located in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. You should be available to work in the city and various locations. You will be working at Water Treatment Plants and Lift Stations across Saskatchewan. You will provide automation & control services, installations, maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical equipment and basic electrical work. This position works closely with and reports to the designated journeyman.

We are looking for an Water Division Journeyman to join our dream team!

 

Contract Length:

Start Date: February 3, 2025

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Maintain inventory of stored material
  • Interpret electrical code specifications
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Install and maintain electrical power distribution equipment such as transformers, generators, voltage regulators, switches, circuit breakers, capacitors, inductors, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • Inspect and test installed electrical equipment and apparatus to locate electrical faults and check their operation, using volt meters, ammeters and other electrical test instruments and equipment
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment and apparatus
  • Complete test and maintenance reports.
  • Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
  • Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson electrician ticket
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and the ability to maintain a clear abstract
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Familiar with high voltage switch gear systems and solid state equipment including programmable logic controllers, AC and DC variable speed electric motor drive controllers is an asset
  • Physically capable of performing assigned duties
  • Provide your own tools and equipment (basic hand tools/steel-toed boots)
